Air Velocity Sensor Elements - Background

E+E air velocity sensors for mass applications are manufactured in state-of-the-art thin film technology. Response time in the ms range, very low power consumption, excellent resistance against chemicals and outstanding reproducibility are features confirmed by millions of units employed in car engine management.

Construction

The E+E air velocity sensors are hot film anemometers with a standard operation range of 0...20 m/s and -30...200 °C.

Hot film anemometers have a construction similar to standard thin film temperature sensors: active layer, protection layer, connection layer

The main difference is the material of the substrate. In order to achieve the required properties the E+E air velocity sensor is placed on thin glass substrate (0.15 mm).
